Leading in Storm Prediction & Response Innovation
New Orleans, LA - October 28–29, 2025
Urbint recently hosted the Storm Manager Summit, a two-day gathering of utilities, contractors, and industry partners committed to advancing the prediction, management, and response of storm events. The event showcased the latest innovations in Urbint’s Emergency Preparedness & Response solution and fostered rich discussion on best practices for managing storm logistics, resource allocation, and recovery operations.
The summit kicked off with a welcome from Urbint’s Rich Addotta, GM Storm Manager and Matt Crye, President, setting the stage for two days of hands-on learning, collaboration, and innovation. Urbint’s team shared the broader vision for continuous improvement and highlighted the expanding role of Urbint’s EP&R suite.
Sessions throughout the first day focused on forecasting and pre-staging, resource management, and operational logistics.
Urbint also partnered with Helms Briscoe to preview a new lodging integration, enabling real-time bookings from Helms Briscoe’s CATNAP system to sync directly with crew assignments in Storm Manager, eliminating manual uploads and reducing administrative overhead.
Panel discussions throughout the afternoon provided firsthand perspectives from the field. Contractors from Haugland, Storm Services, LineTec, Danella, and KNX shared the realities of managing crews, lodging, and logistics under intense storm conditions.
A standout session on War Stories in Cost Recovery, moderated by Jim Duffy, explored challenges utilities face during rate case proceedings, emphasizing the critical importance of documentation and transparency in cost recovery.
Day one concluded with a riverboat networking cruise, giving attendees an opportunity to connect informally and continue conversations sparked throughout the day.
Day two turned attention toward Urbint’s product roadmap and data ecosystem.
The summit concluded with a live Roadmap Review and Prioritization session led by Rich Addotta, allowing attendees to directly influence Urbint’s development priorities. This open dialogue underscored Urbint’s commitment to co-creating solutions that meet the real-world needs of the storm management community.
The Urbint Storm Manager Summit 2025 reaffirmed Urbint’s position as a leader in operational excellence and collaborative innovation.
