Urbint Partners with Arcadia to Offer Clean Energy to Homes as an Employee Benefit

Urbint, the leading AI platform predicting threats to workers and critical infrastructure to stop incidents before they happen, today announced a new partnership with Arcadia, a technology company that helps customers take a more active role in addressing climate change by creating unprecedented access to clean energy options. Through Arcadia’s employee benefits program, Urbint will offer employees access to 100% clean energy in their homes while subsidizing a portion of its employees' monthly utility bills. This partnership will help Urbint reach its corporate sustainability goals and become 100% carbon neutral as a business.

These days, millions of American employees are using electricity at home rather than in the office. Arcadia’s residential energy data shows a 2% average increase in energy usage and a 6% increase in electricity bills for households in 2020 and 2021. As home energy consumption increases and results in more harmful emissions, Arcadia is working with businesses like Urbint to get their employees easy access to clean energy to reduce their environmental impact.

“Urbint’s technology helps some of the biggest energy companies in the world reduce their emissions in the fight against climate change. So we wanted to extend our emissions reduction impact by going operationally carbon neutral ourselves,” said Corey Capasso, Founder and CEO of Urbint. “As a distributed company, offsetting our employees’ emissions at home will soon allow us to reach carbon neutrality company-wide.”

"It’s never been a more important time to prioritize a renewable energy future and take action on climate change," said Alexa Minerva, Senior Director of Partnerships of Arcadia. "Companies are paying more attention to their corporate sustainability goals by aligning on employee values and making climate-conscious decisions. Arcadia's contribution is powerful, especially when we are able to help businesses become carbon neutral. Urbint demonstrates how corporations can leverage Arcadia's platform to do good for their employees and the planet."

Scope 3 emissions, also referred to as "value chain emissions" are activities that represent the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions beyond the control of a company, normally including transportation and travel. With employees working from home and traveling less than ever, all companies interested in managing their carbon emissions should be exploring strategies to reduce emissions from home energy use.
