Copyright policy

1. Overview

Urbint, Inc. and its affiliates (“Urbint”) invest significant resources to create software, documentation, web content, and other materials that are protected under the copyright laws of the United States (Title 17 of the U.S. Code) and of other countries worldwide (collectively, “Works”). Urbint expressly reserves all rights in its Works. To protect its investment, Urbint diligently guards against infringement of its Works. This policy outlines the scope of exclusive rights held by owners of copyrights and certain conduct that violates Urbint’s ownership of its Works. This policy is subject to change at any time and without notice at the discretion of Urbint.

2. Scope of Copyrights and Infringement

Copyright law protects original works of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression. Copyright infringement occurs when there is a violation of any one or more of these exclusive rights: (1) reproduction; (2) preparation of derivative works; (3) distribution to the public; (4) performance in public; or (5) display in public. A derivative work arises when a new work or a modification of an existing work is created from a copyrighted work (including when the pre-existing work is changed, condensed, recast, transformed, or adapted). If a pre-existing work is a protected work under copyright law, then a person who wishes to prepare and exploit a derivative work must obtain a license from the owner of the copyright in the pre-existing work.

3. Restrictions

Without written permission from Urbint, you may not make any unauthorized reproductions, modifications, or engage in the distribution of any Works, which include, but are not limited to, publications, computer software (including object code and source code), web content, diagrams, photos, test materials, text, images, and graphics created by Urbint and published or made available to others in any format.

It is Urbint policy to enforce its copyrights against third parties who infringe those rights. To ensure that you do not infringe any Works, do not, without written permission from Urbint, engage in any of the following:

  • Directly or indirectly copy, reproduce, or distribute any Works (including webpages) or any part of the text or graphics from those materials.
  • Directly or indirectly modify or create derivative works of any Works.
  • Copy, reproduce, or modify source code or object code owned by Urbint.
  • Create materials that look as though they originated from or are endorsed by Urbint.
  • Imitate the color, style, design, or visual appearance of Works.
  • Distribute Works for sale, rental, license, or other disposition.

4. Third-Party Rights

In the conduct of its business, Urbint uses software, documentation, and other copyrightable works that are owned by third-party licensors (“Third-Party Works”). In all instances, Urbint respects the copyrights of third parties and intends to use such Third-Party Works as permitted by the owners. In the event you believe a Third-Party Work is publicly displayed on the Urbint website without permission of the owner, please contact Urbint at hello@urbint.com and provide a description of the Third-Party Work and associated details to allow Urbint to timely review and follow-up on the issue raised.
